Peasant's Eye

A heart medicine, after rheu:matism or influenza, where the muscles of the heart are in stage of fatty de- generation, regulating the puise and increasing the power of contractions of heart, with increased urinary secretions. Valvular affections. Most valuable in car- diac droysy. Low vitality, with weak heart and slow, weak. pulse. Hydrothorax, ascites.

Head

Feeis light; aches across front, from occiput around temples to eyes. Vertigo on rising, turning head quickly or lying down. Tinnitus. Scalp feels tight.

Mouth

Slimy. Tcng!e dirty yellow, sore, feels scalded. 15

Stomach

Heavy weight. Gnawing hunger. Faint feeling in epigastrium. Better out of doors. Urine. -- Oily pellicle on urine. Scanty, albuminous.

Respiratory

Frequent desire to take a long breath. Feeling of weight on chest.

Heart

Mitral and aortic regurgitation. Prrcordiul pain, palpitation, (d dyspnaa. Marked venous en- gorgement. Cardiac asthma. [Quebracho.] Fatty Myocarditis, irregular cardiac action, constric- tion and vertigo. Pulse rapid, irregular.

Extremities

Aching in nape. Spine stiff and ach- ing.

Sleep

Restless, with horrible dreams.

Relationships

Mdonidin is a cardiac tonic and diuretic. Quarter to half grain daily, or two to five grains of first derima! trit. Increases arterial pressure and prolongs the diastole, favoring emptying engorged veins. Compare: Digit.: Cratcg.; Conval.: Strophantus.

Dose

Five to ten drops of the tincture.
